Jessica – Jessica is 27 years old and was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. She is the mother to a three year old little boy, Elijah, and lives in a house she owns with her mother, Deanna, and two cats, Tigger and Jasper. Jessica is passionate about environmentalism, natural health, single mother issues, feminism, empowered birth and social justice. She enjoys reading, writing, gardening, cooking, crafting, hiking, and she runs (but doesn’t really enjoy it :-P). Jessica is a birth doula, a full time student majoring in Integrative Therapeutic Practices (alternative health), and spent six and a half years as a photojournalist in the Colorado Army National Guard, deploying once to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In her back yard, she has a large garden and she keeps bees. She hopes to one day have chickens.
Jeremy – Jeremy is 28 years old and was born in California. His family moved to Colorado when he was six. He lives by himself in a house that’s way too big for a single guy, and is happy to be starting a family in it at last. Jeremy is an electrician and loves energy efficiency (one of the first things that attracted Jessica to him). He loves gadgets and building things, in fact, he built Jessica’s bee hive. It was so impressive to her fellow Denver bee keepers, that he was asked if he would be interested in teaching a class. Jeremy is very creative and handy, Jessica is convinced he can build or fix just about everything. He is also a kid at heart. He and Elijah have a good time playing with all the cool toys Jeremy has at his house. Jeremy doesn’t like trendy things, and shuns things like Facebook and Apple products. He isn’t too interested in wedding planning, but Jessica has a few ideas about ways he can participate and have fun.
